I Didn’t Think I Was ‘That Girl’, Until I Said Yes to This

Why Jewelry Parties Were the Step I Didn’t Know I Needed

What started as simple home jewelry parties with jBloom slowly became something much bigger than I ever expected.

If you would’ve told me years ago that I’d be hosting events, putting myself out there on social media, traveling for business, and building a team of amazing women… I probably would’ve laughed and thought, “You’ve got the wrong girl!”

I’ve always loved people. I’ve always loved connection. But I never saw myself as the loud one, the leader, or the person front and center. Well, maybe the loud one 😉. But I was much more comfortable behind the scenes, making sure everyone felt included and cheering others on.

Honestly, I didn’t think I was the “type” for any of this.

The truth is, it didn’t happen overnight. There wasn’t some big moment where I suddenly felt confident and ready.  It was more like a series of small steps, a few deep breaths, and a lot of “okay, I’ll try.”

I started saying yes to things that felt a little outside my comfort zone.
Yes to showing up.
Yes to meeting new people.
Yes to learning something new.

And little by little, something started to shift.

I found myself laughing more.
Making new friendships.
Feeling proud of myself in ways I hadn’t before.

And I realized something important: confidence doesn’t usually come first… it kind of sneaks in after you take the step.

I still remember the nerves. Wondering if anyone would show up. Hoping I was doing things right. Thinking, “What am I even doing?”

But every time I showed up anyway.

Somewhere along the way, the girl who preferred the background started hosting jewelry parties and girls night events, encouraging other women, and creating spaces where people felt welcome.

Now, one of the things I hear most often is, “I could never do what you do.” And I always want to say, “You might be surprised!” Because I used to think the same thing.

Blooming with Lori started with simple home jewelry parties and girls night events, but it has always been about more than jewelry. It’s about saying yes to trying something new. It’s about finding connection, building confidence, and realizing you don’t have to be the loudest or most outgoing person in the room to belong.

You just have to be willing to take a small step. And maybe another. And maybe one more after that.

I’m still growing. Still learning. Still stepping outside my comfort zone. But I’ve also learned that some of the best things in life happen right on the other side of your comfort zone.

So if you’ve ever thought:
“I could never do that.”
“I’m not outgoing enough.”
“That’s just not me.”

I get it. I really do.

But sometimes, the things we think we can’t do are just the things we haven’t tried yet.

And who knows… you might just bloom a little in the process 🌸
